Any Problem with E.I.F.S.?
Truthfully, the system is not 100% damage-proof. The most common problem with E.I.F.S. is the possibility of hosting avian animals especially for areas that are cold.
As mentioned, the layers provided by the system aids with the insulation ensuring that the building it is constructed in is kept warm and cozy. Hence, the main reason why birds of all kinds like to dig holes with their beaks and make their nests inside or in between the layers of the walls.
Although not harmful in general, bird nesting can still cause damage to your stucco house/establishment as the open areas or dug holes can cause unwanted elements like mold to develop. Not to mention, bird droppings and possible carcasses within the walls can lead to bad odor and brewing of bacteria or illnesses.
But of course, these are all preventable with proper maintenance and frequent management.
